Truck Bed Liners

Grizzly Grip is the perfect coating for your truck bed liner. It has great strength and toughness to handle the every day use that commercial and residential trucks encounter. This coating is packed with anti-rust prohibitors, a large choice of colors and a strong UV solvent that can be added to make Grizzly Grip the choice for your truck bed liner.

Oil base polyurethane coatings are ideal for the truck bed liner industry; these are some of the top industrial coatings used in today's industry. Using Grizzly Grip will protect your interior from being scratched through to the bare metal, where water will cause your bed to rust and deteriorate away. Using Grizzly Grip compared to a plastic liner will also benefit your truck, because moisture can build under the plastic liner causing the same problem you are trying to protect against. Application is very easy; Grizzly Grip can be sprayed or rolled on with our special textured rollers. When applying with a roller you will achieve the same look as if it were sprayed on, plus you do not have to use intense masking for preparation, and no problems with government branches, such as the EPA and OSHA since it is not being sprayed.

A lot of refinishing companies are adding Grizzly Grip to expand their business. It is very profitable if you want to do this for a business. There are no franchises or dealerships to buy into when using our products. So if you are a homeowner just buying Grizzly Grip for your truck bed liner or starting a business, Grizzly Grip is the best choice for you. Contact Midwest Chemicals at 800-270-0777 for any questions regarding Grizzly Grip.

Application

Below is a step by step in picture form that illustrates how to apply Grizzly Grip to your truck bed by roller application.

These are the items to be used to refinish your truck bed liner. You will need a metal pan, 2" brush and Zylene; we provide the GRIZZLY GRIP, UV solvent, accelerator and rollers.
This is the UV solvent that you mix in to 1 gallon of Grizzly Grip coating. This will provide your coating with years of protection against the sun's ultra violet rays and keep your coating from non-yellowing and chalking.
This is accelerator that helps speed up the curing time of your coating. When applying to surfaces with humidity over 65%, accelerator is not needed, and will not harm coating if mixed in. Every gallon of Grizzly Grip comes with a free bottle of accelerator FREE OF CHARGE.
Remove all nut or bolts from truck unless you want to coat them. On this brand new truck, we removed all the nuts that hold the truck's bed to the frame. Mask off any area that you do not want coated.
Sweep out any debris or dirt from truck's bed, a good sweeping is all you need.
Scuff up painted surface with a green etch pad. We can provide this, but you can purchase these at any local hardware store. When scuffing, just wipe dry, this will ruff up the surface for better adhesion. Using a scuff pad is equivalent to sanding with 320-grit sandpaper.
After dry sanding, wipe down surface with MEK or Acetone using your scotch pad to wipe down.
Give a final wipe down with a clean towel using zylene. PREPERATION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS. For bare metals, our XL Aerospace is highly suggested, this primer be brushed on.
We took the tailgate off, which we suggest, prepped and masked it off ready to be coated.
Mask off the trim of the truck so that Grizzly Grip does not get on any unwanted surfaces. NOTE- Grizzly Grip has tremendous adhesion, so be care full not to get it on any surface that you want no coating on.
The truck is totally masked off and ready for coating. We used brown masking paper; that you can purchase that at your local hardware store.
Add your bottle of UV solvent and bottle of accelerator to your gallon of Grizzly Grip.
Use an electric hand drill with paint mixing bit attachment; you can get the mixers at a local paint store. You can mix with a stir stick but this is not recommended.
Roll on Grizzly Grip with our special rollers and use a two-inch brush to dab on in corners or areas where roller cannot get at. NOTE- DO NOT FILL IN HOLES ON TRUCK WHERE WATER DRAINS. In this picture. The drain holes are located at the back wall of the truck, where the truck bed floor meets the back wall.
Apply one medium coat on the wall of the truck bed, then a first heavy coat on the floor. Wait 1 to 3 hours or until the first coat is dry before applying a second coat. Repeat directions of first coat. This is a moisture cure urethane, the higher the humidity the faster it will dry. THICKNESS EQUALS DURABILITY.
This is a final look at the truck completed. Pull masking tape off 15 minutes to an hour after applying second coat. Usable after 12 hours for light duty. Wait 72 hours to put any objects heavier than 50lbs in truck.
